Are you looking for a way to help Nevada Humane Society save more lives? One of the most effective ways to help animals directly is to become a foster.
Foster families provide a temporary home for animals who need a home environment to grow, heal, and become ready to find their fur-ever homes. On April 12, 2020 we will be hosting a virtual kitten shower event so the community can learn more about our foster program.
To participate in our virtual event, please visit https://www.facebook.com/nevadahumanesociety/ on April 12 from 3:00-3:30 to watch our Facebook live.
While we need all types of fosters, our highest need is for kittens. Kitten season is an extremely busy time of year from April-September when we have a large influx of kittens come through our shelter — last year alone we cared for over 2,500-plus kittens.
Due to COVID-19 we had to suspend our Trap-Neuter-Return and Spay and Neuter programs to keep our staff and the community safe. We expect this to have a tremendous impact on our kitten season — driving even more kittens through our shelter. We also have dedicated volunteer fosters willing to share their personal stories and experiences in an interview.
During this time more than ever we need your help. To help Nevada Humane Society during this trying time please:
Leave healthy kittens when found. These kittens are best cared for by their mothers.
